Biography

I am an artist, working with pencil, charcoal, chalk pastels, and acrylic paint, and I also like to have fun with other media.
I have been creating art for as long as I can remember.
Some of my favorite artists are Albrecht Durer, Georgia O'Keeffe, Vincent Van Gogh and the Dutch Masters, and...


I became an "official" licensed art teacher in 2009, but I have taught informally for much longer than that.
I have a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Art and German from Ashland College (yes, it's Ashland University now, but it was Ashland College for over a hundred years before that), a teaching license earned at Muskingum College (also now called  University), and a Master of Education in Integrated Arts from the University of Rio Grande.


I love not only creating art, but teaching it.  I teach all ages and abilities.  My experience has been with everybody from 5-year-olds to adults, from beginner to advanced.  I have taught in public schools, private schools, art centers, a day center for developmentally disabled adults, museums, YMCA, private lessons, arts and science camps, workshops, festivals...
